Spreading Heat Pipes



Spreading the heat in the base helps in reducing the thermal resistance which otherwise is encountered due to concentrated loads on a larger base. Spreading heat pipes heat sinks results in avoiding building up of hot spots and enables more even heat spreading to maximize fin efficiency. These are also commonly called as Embedded Heat Pipe Heat Sinks and are a reliable and cost effective solution in cases where performance enhancement is expected. Reduction in heat build ups around the devices also results in improved device life.

The heat pipes embedded, are made as an integral part of the base, either by soldering the heat pipes in the grooves on the base or are attached using epoxy. This process results in coming up with a rugged heat sink which can withstand harsh environmental conditions and prove reliable in the field.
